Hard Doctrines of Christ

Hard Doctrines of Christ

It seems that there are many Christians in the world today that have taken up the belief that Jesus patient and tolerant and accepts each of us as we are without expectations on our part to change, repent or grow into something more. I agree that Jesus the Christ is patient, loving, forgiving and compassionate. However, discipleship also requires, as the word implies, discipline. The upward path of the Christian is fraught with obstacles, hardships and disability. It is the path of continual introspection, evaluation and change. Stricken from the vocabulary should be phrases such as "I can't change, This is just the way I am."

The Savior's call to repent is an invitation to change your heart. True repentance occurs only when your heart is changed or transformed. Behavior, of course, will follow. We are invited to be renewed, redeemed and restored. But change is hard and usually requires effort and strength beyond our capabilities. Fortunately, the admonition to become a "new creature" in Christ brings with it spiritual guidance and support that can make all the difference. As we take the Holy Spirit as our guide (most often felt as promptings, thoughts and ideas from your conscience), we are led on the path of service and sacrifice. (Understand that a sacrifice is giving up something of lesser value for something much greater.)

Jesus was approached by a young man with a question:

KJV - Matthew 19:16-26
16 ¶And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Christ answers that he should keep the commandments.
20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

I fear that many of us are like this young man. We are keeping all of the commandments, but we lack that one thing. Namely, detaching ourselves from our comforts and possessions and serving those in need. While few of us are called to sell our possessions and give them to the poor, we are expected to bless and serve those in need.

In Matthew Chapter 25, Jesus pairs two parables together, which build up each other. In each of these parables effort and preparation are required to accomplish the task at hand.

In the parable of the 10 Virgins, all are worthy and have been invited to the wedding feast. Or in other words, all 10 have been keeping the commandments to the extent that they felt qualified to meet with the bridegroom (in this case the Savior). However, only 5 calculated what may be required and prepared for additional needs - namely that they may have to wait for a while is the bridegrooms coming is delayed, which would mean that extra lamp oil would be needed. When the cry came to meet the bridegroom, each virgin needed to be self-sufficient and could not lend any of their oil to the others. Now the foolish virgins seemed to have the financial means to purchase oil, which they ran off to the merchants to get, but they were not prepared at the time.

By the time they got back and returned to the marriage, it was too late and the Lord denied even knowing them. Wow, that seems like of harsh! He concludes with the advice to "Watch" or prepare.

Tied to and directly following this parable, with no commentary between the two, is the parable of the talents. A man traveling into a far country gives stewardship over his goods to his servants - divided unequally presumably based on the faithfulness or skill level of each servant. He expects them to manage these assets profitably. Upon the masters return, those given 5 and 2 talents produced a good return, while the servant given one talent was unprofitable. The Lord, of course, was please with the profitable servants and not pleased with the other.

These two parables are tied together as Christ differentiates between those who are judged to be righteous or wicked. "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Those who are considered righteous, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, house the stranger, visit the sick and imprisoned, essentially care for those who are in need. The wicked are those who don't do these things.

Could it be that "goodness" in the Lords eyes is based on serving those in need, more than simply "keeping the commandments"?

King Benjamin put it this way: "I would that ye should impart of your substance to the poor, every man according to that which he hath, such as feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting the sick and administering to their relief, both spiritually and temporally, according to their wants." - It is interesting that we give and serve "according to their wants." The implication here is that judgment is taken out of the equation. It is not my job to determine for someone else, what is a need vs a want.

In the great Sermon on the Mount, Christ teaches:
21 ¶Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (KJV Matthew 7:21-23)
It would appear that more is required than simply "confessing the name of Jesus" or considering within ourselves we are good Christian.

We are misled if we think that we can discharge our obligations to the poor and needy by shifting responsibility to the government or some other public agency. Only by voluntarily giving, out of abundance of love for our neighbor (defined as - those within the circle of your influence) can the pure love of Christ be developed. Jesus seems to give administering to the poor and needy top priority.

In ancient times in Israel, Moses taught true principles of welfare.  (Levitcus 19:9-10)

Farmers in that day, were instructed, during harvest, to leave the corners of their fields for the poor to come by later and glean - "harvest the leftovers". This program taught two basic principles namely (1) those who have - are to give, and (2) those who receive - are to work. Idleness back then as well as today is not a godly virtue.

Lest we judge those who may fit the biblical definition of being idle, we are taught that it is not our place to judge the poor and needy.
Joseph Smith taught, "Indolent and unworthy the beggar may be - but that is not your concern: It is better, to feed ten impostors than to run the risk of turning away one honest petition." We are called upon to bless the lives of those whom the Lord will put within our influence, as well as provide support to worthy organizations dedicated to helping those in need.

Once Mother Theresa was asked how she could continue day after day after day, visiting the terminally ill: feeding them, touching them, wiping their brows, giving them comfort as they lay dying. And she said, "It's not hard, because in each one I see the face of Christ in one of His more distressing disguises."

And so, to me, it would appear that the difference between the righteous and the wicked can be distilled down to our attitude of how we treat those who are poor and in need. This is certainly, (speaking only for myself,) something worth contemplation, self-evaluation and reconsidering how I conduct my life and my financial stewardship.

Is this a Hard Doctrine of Christ? It is said that the Lord only speaks hard things as they are interpreted by the wicked. If I consider offerings and service to those in need as hard or difficult, I guess that may be more of a reflection of me, than that of the doctrine itself.

"If, in the end, you have not chosen Jesus Christ, it will not matter what you have chosen." - Neal A. Maxwell

So, what does all of this have to do with healthcare and healing your body? I teach my patients (and personally believe) that all of the challenges we experience (physical as well as mental and emotional) are part of our spiritual journey. Christ suffered and atoned not only for our sins, but also for our illnesses, our broken bones, broken hearts, broken minds and broken spirits. As we truly come to Jesus, things can begin to change, heal and be renewed. As you get on this spiritual path - the one that requires serving and helping others (as you will be directed by that inner voice known as your conscience or the Light of Christ), things will begin to change for you. It requires true conversion, more than simply following a service-oriented checklist.

Blessings,

Tried & True herbal Remedies

  Tried and True Herbal Remedies
One of the great blessings of growing older is the experience you gain. Particularly if you have stuck to something for a long time. One of my greatest motivations has been failure. It really bugs me when something doesn't work. As a result, I search and learn and try again, and again and again. And over time, end up with things that are truly satisfying. So has it been with herbal remedies. Beginning with a remedy that works well and thenimproving upon it. I have been blessed with 30 years of working with wonderful people who have been willing to "try" what I give them. As they report back, remedies have been refined and improved. Are they perfect for every person? Not necessarily, but they are pretty darn good and wildly successful for relieving and healing most people.

As times continue to grow increasingly turbulent, many have found value in making and using their own herbal remedies. A year ago, I set a goal to have 500 gallons of herbal remedies through out the valley. Many of you have risen with this goal and now have your own herbal remedies at home. I am happy to say this goal has been exceeded. You have found that by making your own remedies by the half gallon, your cost is about 10% of what you would pay for the same (often inferior) product at the health food store.

We are offering again our Remedy Workshops. Come to my home, roll up your sleeves, turn on the blender and make for yourself Fast, Effective and potent herbal remedies. Your cost is just that of the materials and supplies. In the process, you will learn how to make these remedies on your own. You will be blessed with the assurance that you can assist those in your care for by helping issues and problems before they get out of hand. Workshop includes the herbs, jars, strainers, oils and tincturing materials - everything you need for each remedy. (Please bring a BlendTech or Vita-Mix blender if you have one).
We get you started - however, most remedies you will finish at home. (for example, with our tinctures - you need to shake them daily for 2 weeks before they are ready to strain and finish).

YOU MUST RSVP so will know we have adequate supplies. Let us know which day you will come, and which remedies you will be making.   kylesinthegarden@gmail.com or 1-801-360-0749
Space is limited and these workshops ALWAYS fill up, so if this is something you feel prompted to do, don't get left behind. Workshops held at 125 West Oak Drive, Woodland Hills, Utah. Most people can make 3 or 4 remedies during a workshop.

Listed below are the remedies you have the option to make.  Prioritize and choose what you should get started on.

The Ebola Virus

The Ebola  Virus
Pretty scary stuff we are reading about these days. What concerns many of us is that we are too often not told the truth. We have learned from sad experience that the media (news reporting agencies) and the marketers (those trying to sell products) are more motivated to manipulate our behavior than give us honesty and truth. As a result, many of us have become skeptical, suspicious and cautious of what we are being told.
And so it is with this latest outbreak of the contagious disease - Ebola.

Firstly, I tend not to trust what the American Media is telling us, especially in the face of what is being reported overseas. We are not being told about the US bioweapons lab that has been kicked out of Sierra Leon who was working with Ebola. We are not being told about the research suggesting that this strain of Ebola is different from the one that first surfaced in 1976. We are not being told of documented cases contracted without direct contact - meaning that it was and can be spread through the air. And it is not being discussed what we (as individuals and families) can do to prevent or avoid exposure. No mention in the popular media of doing ANYTHING to prevent or prepare.  [Don’t want the populace to get all riled up - just keep telling them they are comfortable and safe].

The truth is, it is difficult to know when we are being told the truth or when we are being manipulated with half truths or outright misinformation. Most people are simply too busy to bother with “all of the negative news”. Wars, financial crises, fires, immigration debates, terrorism (terrorism was just in 2001 right?) - It is all so negative. We’ve got kids to get ready to get back in school, family reunions, parties and social gatherings, skiing on the lake, hiking in the woods, training for the next race, etc. Nope, no time for negative stuff.

Now I am not suggesting that THIS IS IT. That this Ebola outbreak will spread to become the next worldwide pandemic - the last being the 1918 Spanish Flu, which killed millions (that was with a 2.5% death rate). However, real or not, I believe this is an opportunity for us to discuss and prepare for the WHAT IF.

First, understand that prevention is far better than grappling for a cure. This Ebola virus is scary and can kill up to 90% of those infected. Your number one strategy for this and any other contagious disease is referred to as social distancing. Honestly, nothing else has proven effective. This can range from wearing a protective mask and keeping your distance to walking into your house, closing the door, and not come out for 90 days (and not let anyone or anything else in). Period.

Wow, that is kind of harsh. However, if a potentially deadly contagious disease becomes widespread, you need to prepare and have the ability to exercise every option. If you do not have the personal resources to take care of yourself, you risk exposure.

As a natural health care practitioner, I hear a lot of talk (and read A LOT) about peoples natural remedies. Understand, that there is not one remedy that will cure-it-all. We must understand the nature of the enemy (the disease). In the case of Ebola - it is a virus. Medicine does not have an effect drug or treatment for viral illnesses. Generally, the goal with viral infections is to keep the person alive long enough for their own immune system to finally kill the virus.

Here is what Ebola does that is fatal: It gobbles up all Vitamin C in the body. No one actually knows the exact mechanism involved in how this is done, but that is what is observed. Scientists know that vitamin C drops to zero and all the symptoms of Ebola are consistent with a complete loss of Vitamin C.

"The very first symptoms of Ebola are exactly the same as scurvy, which is caused by inadequate Vitamin C. With the absence of Vitamin C, blood vessels become very weak and start to leak losing blood. Ebola causes massive internal bleeding, loss of blood, and shock resulting in death (up to 90% of the time). This 90% number that is often thrown around represents the most impoverished, malnourished populations.  The range is actually between 25% to 90% depending on the level of health of the population base exposed.  This is a pretty convincing argument to be well nourished and healthy. I would rather face a 75% chance of surviving than 10%.  Some researchers suggest Ebola can be stopped simply by taking enormous doses of Vitamin C until the immune system succeeds in killing off the virus."

Characteristic skin lesions or sores develop, which are actually multiple tiny areas of bleeding into the skin that surround the hair follicles. With Ebola virus and other viral hemorrhagic fevers, the disease tends to reach epidemic proportions in areas where Vitamin C deficiency and malnutrition are more prevalent, such as some of the African countries (or possibly to those of us whose diet are less than nourishing). Because of this, it would make sense to ensure that you are getting plenty of Vitamin C and are eating a diet that promotes a healthy immune system. Understand that consuming sweets and sugar will compromise a strong immune response.

When treating for an infectious disease (Ebola or just the common flu), Vitamin C is taken to bowel tolerance. Plainly put, this mean that you keep taking vitamin C until you get the runs (diarrhea). This signal from the body tells you that you have got enough. When I was in school in the early 1980’s, studying the work of Linus Pauling (winner of the Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1954), I decided to put this to the test. I wanted to see how much Vitamin C I could take in a day for the flu I had contracted. 75,000mg (that’s 75grams) of Vitamin C before I reached toleration.

Understand that there have been no published trials or studies with Ebola or hemorrhagic fever and Vitamin C. It has been suggested that a disease of this nature and intensity could require as much as 500 grams (that’s 500,000 mg of Vitamin C - classically used as Ascorbic Acid) per day to reach bowel tolerance. Again, there is no cure for Ebola. The goal of any and all treatment strategies is to support the person by keeping them alive long enough for their own body’s immune system to win the raging war against the virulent infection.

The sicker a patient is, the more ascorbic acid will be tolerated by mouth before diarrhea results. This is what is meant by bowel tolerance. Vitamin C or ascorbic acid is taken to support the immune system in a degree that will give the body as much vitamin C as it can use.  Depending on the individual symptoms, you can determine how many doses of vitamin C will be taken.  I generally suggest 5 grams (5,000 mg) per dose.  So if the goal for the day is 30 grams that would be given in six - 5 gram doses. A dose can be taken as 1 teaspoon of ascorbic acid crystals (or the vitamin C equivalent of 5 grams) in ½ cup of water or juice. The goal is to take enough vitamin C to be just short of bowel tolerance. Once bowel tolerance is reached, back off a bit. Continue with intensive Vitamin C doses until symptoms are completely gone. I would continue taking it in lower doses until you are completely “out of the woods“.

The following chart can give you an estimation of the number of doses to divide amount of vitamin C in.

USUAL DOSES FOR BOWEL TOLERANCE
GRAMS ASCORBIC ACID     NUMBER OF DOSES

candidiasis                 15 - 200+             6 - 25

Many in the natural healing arena suggest their favorite remedies as being the cure for practically everything. Whether it be essential oils, colloidal silver, oregano oil, herbal remedies, or whatever, I suggest having some Vitamin C (as ascorbic acid, calcium ascorbate or sodium ascorbate) on hand. I would suggest getting plenty as it can be stored for a very long time and is relatively inexpensive.  You can purchase ascorbic acid crystals (and just about everything else under the sun) from sources such as Amazon.com. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HMG6BCG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The rule at our house is that when anyone gets sick, EVERYONE takes the medicine (that’s herbal medicine). By following the bowel tolerance method, you can also get an indication of the body’s level of health.  You can test or dose someone to the point of bowel tolerance.  If someone can all of a sudden take 50 grams of vitamin C, then something may be up.

In the case of Ebola - there is a 2 to 21 day incubation period (most often 4-9 days). This means that a person can be infected with Ebola and actively spreading the disease BEFORE they ever have a symptom.

While medical reporters in the United States continue to assure us that infection can only occur from direct person-to-person contact there are several published studies that suggest this virus has been spread from aerosol droplets (a sneeze or cough). The Public Health Agency of Canada warns of this on their website. http://www.phac-aspc.gc.ca/lab-bio/res/psds-ftss/ebola-eng.php

In preventing and treating conditions with so many unknowns, I recommend using several approaches simultaneously. Take your herbal remedies to boost and strengthen the immune system. Use your silver and essential oils. But also consider Vitamin C. For more information on natural remedies to strengthen your immune system see my Blog article on Influenza. http://drkylechristensen.blogspot.com/2014/01/prepared-for-flu-during-sunday-school.html

Is Ebola going to become the next worldwide pandemic. No one really knows. However, epidemiologist assure us that something is coming – if not now, then sometime in our future. Discussions of such dire events and illnesses are not pleasant, but it is far better to be prepared than hoping we will always be immune from disaster. Being prepared as best you can “just in case” is prudent advice that perhaps can give a little peace of mind.

Health to thy Navel, Marrow to thy bones

Health to thy Navel, Marrow to thy bones
- Proverbs 3:8

Dr. Kyle D. Christensen, DC, ND, MH

Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, taught over 2000 years ago that "all disease begins in the gut". This sentiment is also echoed by the writer of Proverbs, in that we can be blessed with Health in thy navel - or in other words - good digestion.  Additionally, we should enjoy marrow to our bones - or a healthy immune system - as the marrow is the producer of blood cells.
Sadly in America, when it comes to food, our focus is more on taste than digestion or nutrition.  We have all fallen victim to advertisers for the food manufacturing industry who tempt us towards foods that can rob us of "health in our navel and marrow in our bones".
There are intense battles raging for our dollar.  And it seems to me that many in the food industry will do anything they can to get it.  Just as much of the medical industry is more interested in managing illness - rather than curing it (diabetes, heart disease, etc.), likewise the food industry is more interested in getting you hooked on their product.
The most simple and direct way to get you to purchase and repurchase their wares, is to create an addiction or chemical dependency.  This can be done with caffeine (soda pop and energy drinks) or with good old fashioned sugar.
Understand this about sugar. Because God loves us, he gave us taste buds.  (Thank you, thank you, dear Lord!) And some of these taste buds are designed specifically to taste sweetness.  In his brilliance, these sugar-tasting buds are wired directly to the pleasure centers in the brain. So when something sweet goes in the mouth, the brain oohs and ahhs with delight.
Because taste is a God-given blessing, He has provided us with the perfect foods for sweetness.  Foods such as raw honey and fruit. These foods contain natural sugars but also vitamins, enzymes, minerals and are truly healthy for our bodies.  On the other hand, it seems that for everything that is good, there’s a counterfeit. If Gods healthy foods for sweetness is honey and fruit, then the counterfeit would be processed sugars or sweeteners.  They have the taste we are designed to love, but do not have the healthy nutrients we need.  And in many cases contain harmful substances classified as "Excitotoxins" that overstimulate and damage the nervous system.
It seems to me, that the path to health is a natural one.  We live in a world of shortcuts and quick fixes.  These approaches are usually dressed up in fancy and attractive packaging, but they are as Christ described "whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness."(Matthew 23:27).
We have learned that our taste buds can become damaged and distorted if fed a diet of chemicals and stimulants.  Changing dietary tastes and preferences can be as difficult as getting a habitual coffee drinker to enjoy the subtle nuances and complexities of an herbal tea.  When exposed to and acclimated to unnatural food products, we sacrifice sensitivities to our tastes as well as our health.  Not only physical health, but mental, emotional and I believe spiritual health as well.
God, in His infinite wisdom, has blessed us with symptoms. Sensations in our body that things are amiss. Of course, a symptom such as pain, or gas, or diarrhea or headaches or a rash are not pleasant, but how else is your body going to get your attention. The good news is that for most of us, simple course corrections in your lifestyle can turn things around.  I said SIMPLE, not necessarily easy.
Listen to your digestive tract.  Is it healthy? Are you feeding your body what IT needs or is your total focus on taste buds that have become distorted through sensational stimulants, such as high fructose corn syrup, and the plethora of chemical additives and flavor enhancers? Do you experience constipation, diarrhea or urinary urgency?
How's your immune system? Do you wake up each morning with energy? Do you suffer from frequent infectious illnesses (colds, flu, etc.)? Do you experience allergies?
If so, rather than taking something to soothe each symptom, consider healing and rebuilding the digestive tract.  I've written about how to do this so much you may be getting tired of it, but in a nutshell, here it is again.  Eat whole natural foods.  Foods that could have been served from your great grandmothers table (that was in the days before food additives and processed foods).  Re-mineralize your gut with foods such as bone broths and gelatins. Reestablish the good bacteria through food sources of probiotics such as sauerkrauts, yogurt, kefir, sourdough, kombucha and kvass. Gain a testimony or a spiritual witness of how and what you should eat.  View the healing of your body as part of your spiritual journey and devotion to God.
Strengthen your immune system through herbs and mild foods (foods that are very digestible). Avoid processed sweets - which depress and ravage the immune system. Eat sweets, but only healthy ones.  Make your own homemade chocolate - which by the way is better than anything you can find that is commercially manufactured.
As you are willing to take steps toward spiritual maturity, treating your body with the reverence and respect it deserves, you will be blessed with health in your navel and marrow in your bones.  Healthy Gut, Healthy Immune System.

The Valley of the Shadow

The Valley of the Shadow
Dr. Kyle D. Christensen, DC, ND, MH

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; - Psalms 23:4

People talk. That's just what we do. When something is bad or when something is good, we talk about it. We like to share ideas, experiences, goals, dreams and visions. In my work, we talk. Sometimes a lot. I have learned to also listen. In this age of information overload, I rely on my patients to do their homework. Which often can mean figuring out what is going on with their own health so that we can, together, figure out a course of action.
The internet is a marvelous tool. Simply enter in your problems and begin sifting through what others have discovered.

Discovery is just the beginning. Once information has been gathered, I often urge people to listen to that inner voice of the spirit for a confirmation of the course of action that should be taken. None of us are exactly alike and so what is right for one, may not work for another. However, we are all human (at least I think most of us are) and general trends, patterns and recommendations often hold true for the vast majority of us.

One concern that has been growing in the lives of many is that of depression. The overwhelming approach offered by the medical profession is that of pharmaceuticals. These can often lead to unwelcome side affects and really only manages the problem rather than fix it. There may be times when health concerns can only be managed, but if there is a way to fix it, that clearly should be the direction pursued.

I was recommended by a friend to look in to Dr. Neil Nedley's work with depression, and I believe he has really come upon a well balanced approach that can truly heal the body, mind and spirit from the affliction of depression.

Depression Recovery Program

Exercise - 6 days a week, you must be moving you body doing something that would be considered exercise. Walk, swim, cycle, you've got to do something. Log how many minutes each day. Set some goals. Remember: A goal not written, is only a wish.

Sleep - we've been taught from childhood that we need eight hours each night. Understand that hours of sleep BEFORE midnight are more beneficial than those after. Schedule bedtime so that you get at least 8 hours. You may need more or less, but plan on eight. Figure what you really need

Deep Breathing - Oxygen is vitally important for good brain function. Take time to breath deeply each day. Think of it as clearly out the cobwebs in the lungs, circulation and brain. You may want to try Dr. Andrew Weils programs.

Avoid Negative Thinking - Stinkin Thinkin! Are you stuck there? Certainly, you must live in this world of grief, sorrow and gloom, and we are not promoting naivete, but as you focus on the positive, your brain will begin to change in good way. Goal: I went a whole day without saying anything negative.

Water - This eight 8 oz glasses of water
per day should be pure, filtered water. Drink from glass containers. Avoid plastic.

Diet - This is what has gotten so many in trouble as far as depression is concerned. You cannot expect to be healthy if your body is taking in harmful chemicals, preservatives, food additives and the plethora of unnatural foods. Eat whole natural foods! Enjoy a plant-based loaded with fruits, nuts, seeds and vegetables diet. At our home, we are vegetarians that cheat.

Spiritual Activity - Truly, this is a key to overcoming depression. Develop a spiritual pattern of daily prayer/meditation/contemplation and scripture study. Avoid reading so many chapters or pages, rather spend 20 to 30 minutes each day. It is okay to spend all of your time on just a verse or two. Ponder and reflect on what scripture means in your daily life. Memorize favorite verses.

Classical Music - Music can fill your soul with light or darkness. Relaxation or tension. Classical music, harp music and lovely melodies really can soothe the soul. Download or purchase music that will lift your soul. Listen to it. Really listen.

Sunlight - We all need light. Consciously get in the sunlight every day. It is healing, it will increase your vitamin D. Most depressed people are vitamin D deficient and taking a supplement is not as good as the Vitamin D created by sunlight touching your skin. Depending on the fairness of your skin, you will be able to tolerate more or less direct sunlight. Remember, you do not want to get sunburned.

If depression is an issue for you or someone you care about, I would recommend that you look in to this program.

I would add to Dr. Nedley's program a detoxification program that may include FIR (far infrared) sauna and a few other
detox related things.

Is this program all inclusive for everyone? Of course not! But this a very good place to start. What I have found is that nearly all of my patients who suffer from depression have major issues with most
of these recommendation. These recommendations are a good place to start and should stand as a gentle reminder of what all of us should be doing.

I believe each of us are called upon to walk through this valley of the shadow of death, which can also be translated as darkest depression.  Recovery and maintaining our sanity must be a very conscious and concerted effort. I urge each of us to make the necessary adjustments to our lives to create balance and happiness.

Blessings,
